Managed services

Managed services that keep your systems running

We support the systems your business runs on, legacy ones included: applications, data pipelines and the backend processes between them. Monitoring, fixes and enhancements run on a monthly plan, with response times set by priority from P1 to P4.

How support works

From an issue to a fix, by priority

Every agreement sets first-response and resolution times for each level.

  1. Step 1

    Try it internally

Your team checks the issue first and notes what it tried.

  2. Step 2

    Email us

Write to support@smartdata.net with the issue and what your team already tried.

  3. Step 3

    We respond

We work on it remotely, through the access your team provides.

  4. Step 4

    Resolved

The issue is closed, with time tracked in 30-minute increments.

P1
Critical. A main feature of the application does not work
P2
Major. A feature does not work, but only for a small set of users or without blocking primary business functions
P3
Moderate. Limited impact: the system works but needs attention
P4
Minor or planned. Requested extensions and nice-to-have fixes

Taking over a system

For the systems we built and the ones we didn’t

Most managed work starts with software someone else wrote. The handover runs in three steps.

  1. 01

    Knowledge transfer

We learn the system from the people who run it today: the jobs, the feeds, the workarounds and the history behind them.

  2. 02

    Run alongside

Our team works incidents next to yours until the access, the patterns and the documentation are in place.

  3. 03

    Take over

Monitoring, incidents and enhancements move to us, with documentation your team keeps.

A few practical questions

Questions about managed services

Ask us about your systems
Can you support software you didn’t build?

Yes. Most of our managed work started that way, from a custom ERP and customer portal taken over from a client’s own IT team to data feeds taken over through knowledge transfer from the people who ran them.

What hours do you cover?

Support runs on US business hours, and the Smart Data Global Center in Hyderabad can extend coverage for critical issues that arrive overnight.

What is included?

Monitoring, fixes, updates and enhancements for applications, data pipelines and the backend processes between them, within the hours your package includes.

What if we need more than the monthly hours?

Small overages are billed at your package rate. Larger enhancements are scoped as a separate statement of work.

How is time tracked?

In 30-minute increments, with a one-hour minimum per incident or request. You name the people on your team who can raise requests.

Next step

Tell us what needs looking after

The platforms, how they are supported today and where the gaps are.

  1. A short call about your systems

What runs today, who supports it and what good support looks like.

  2. An engineer looks at what’s running

Scope comes from your systems as they are, before anything is priced.

  3. You get a written proposal

Covering scope, team, approach and price.
