This talk will highlight and discuss some common vulnerabilities in software security that cause most cyber-attacks today and cannot be detected and prevented by conventional cybersecurity mechanisms. We will also present a teaching and training approach with hands-on hacking exercises for future software developers. The hacking exercises aim to promote awareness of software vulnerabilities and their consequences so that developers can avoid them in the development phase by applying secure programming techniques.
