Project Overview

Royal Cup, a leading national coffee and tea distributor, needed a more efficient way for its Territory Managers (TMs) to manage customer service tasks in the field. Their outdated handheld systems were impacting repair timelines, inventory accuracy, and customer satisfaction. As a longtime Smart Data partner, Royal Cup turned to us to modernize its service operations. We delivered a native mobile solution tightly integrated with SAP, enabling TMs to manage inventory, receive service orders, take payments, and work offline—anytime, anywhere.

Project Challenge

Royal Cup’s service team lacked real-time visibility into truck-level inventory and customer accounts. The outdated handheld devices created delays, errors, and limited functionality. TMs needed the ability to:

  • Track and transfer inventory

  • Receive and complete service orders

  • Accept payments

  • Work in low or no connectivity environments

Project Approach

Smart Data built a full-featured mobile application for iPhone using Microsoft Xamarin. The solution connects directly to SAP ERP through REST APIs on SAP NetWeaver and ABAP. Key features included:

  • Offline capabilities for uninterrupted service

  • Self-healing inventory tracking

  • Integrated payment processing

  • Geolocation tools

  • Seamless integration with SAP and Salesforce

We assembled a cross-functional team of mobile developers, ABAP experts, QA, and project management to deliver the solution over 12 months.
