Project Overview

A fast-growing EV charging start-up needed a flexible, scalable tech stack to support rapid infrastructure expansion. With limited internal resources and competing priorities, they turned to Smart Data to deliver data integration, warehousing, reporting, and customer-facing tools that could evolve with their business. Smart Data stepped in to deliver serverless data pipelines, a Snowflake data warehouse, a secure customer dashboard, and JIRA support workflows, all tailored to the fast pace and evolving needs of the business. The result was a scalable, integrated foundation designed to grow alongside the client.

Project Challenge

The client had multiple urgent needs typical of high-growth start-ups:

  • Unify data across multiple platforms (Synop, Geotab, Ampcontrol)

  • Build a performant, fault-tolerant cloud data architecture

  • Provide customers with a secure, self-service dashboard

  • Establish internal workflows in Jira Service Management

  • Recruit and onboard a full-time Data Warehouse Architect

They needed a partner who could guide technical strategy, provide hands-on execution, and adapt to evolving priorities.

Project Approach

Smart Data supported the client across architecture, development, and staffing. Our delivery included:

Customer Dashboard: Built with React + Next.js, secured with Auth0, backed by Snowflake for live data

JIRA Setup: Worked side-by-side with internal teams to configure JSM workflows and reporting

Recruiting Support: Helped hire and integrate an in-house data warehouse architect
