Staff on a Medicaid health plan’s 24-hour triage line worked across three systems on every call. Smart Data brought what they needed into one, which removed $300K a year in licenses and cut new-staff training from six weeks to four.

A Medicaid health plan runs a 24-hour triage line for its members. The staff who answer it needed three systems open to handle a call: CareAdvance, Facets and NCentaurus. Each one held part of what they needed, and the plan paid for all three.

Smart Data worked with the health plan and the NCentaurus vendor to bring everything the triage line needs into one system.

## The challenge

- Every call meant moving between three systems to find the member’s information
- Facets licenses for the triage staff alone cost $300K a year
- New staff took six weeks to train, because they had to learn all three systems before taking calls

## The solution

- Worked out with the health plan’s team which data the triage line actually uses from each system
- Built backend processes that bring that data into NCentaurus
- Customized NCentaurus with the vendor, so staff see what a call needs in one place
